BOXING 101

Family Member: $30/Member: $40 /Non-member: $55

Learn the fundamentals of boxing without the pressure or expectation of having to enter the ring. Box 101 promotes self confidence, physical fitness, and self defense. Competive opportunities and advancement available.

Rookies (Ages 6-10) - Friday: 6 to 7 p.m.

Jab Hooks (Ages 11-15) - Saturday: 1 to 2 p.m.

Boxing 201

2 Classes Per Week

Family Member: $40/Member: $50/Non-member: $75

The next step in boxing for amateur competition...Boxing 201 is a program designed for kids seriously interested in becoming involved in boxing competitively. The participants will compete in regional matches and tournaments. Additional instruction in strength and conditioning. (Ages 13-17)

Thursday 7 to 8 p.m. / Saturday 2 to 3 p.m.


Adult Boxing 301

Member $60/ Non-member $75

Boxing 301 is a program designed for adults (18+) interested in learning the art of boxing in a setting not typical of other boxing gyms. With Boxing 301, you can learn the fundamentals of boxing without the pressure or expectation of ever having to enter the ring. It can be a positive experience promoting self confidence, physicial fitness and self defense. Adults also have the opportunity to become competitive with an opponent.

Saturday 3 to 4:30 p.m.


Youth "Y" Club Boxing

Member $40/ Non-member $60

The mission of the Greater Pittston YMCA Youth Boxing Club is to foster self-esteem, promote self-discipline, to mentor, stay free of drugs and to promote citizenship. The Club is available to youths that are willing to follow the rules of the organization and society and stay in school. All participants must first enter Boxing 101 and complete Boxing 201.

*Each participant will have the opportunity of 4 hours of group training per week and 1 hour of personal training per week (additional $20)


 

Introduction To Tee-Ball 

Family Member: $30 /Member: $40/ Non-member: $60

Play ball and learn basic skills. This is NOT a league. Emphasis is on skill development. Bring your own glove. For ages 4-6.

Monday 5:30 to 6:15 p.m.

MICRO and Champion All-Sports Class     

Family Member: $30 /Member: $40/ Non-member: $60

A fun introductory sports class for boys and girls ages 3 to 5 years old. Through a range of developmentally appropriate activities, children are introduced to the fundamentals of basketball, t-ball, floor hockey, and indoor soccer. Parents are encouraged to come along with their children!

Thursday 4 to 5 p.m. 

Parent/Child Basketball Clinic

Member $40/ Non-member $60

Parents bond with their sons or daughters as they share the drills. Each parent will be involved in the class doing the same FUNdamental drills as their children. Open to children ages 6 to 11 year old. Directed and instructed by Mike Riddle.

Gymnastics

Family Member: $50/Member: $60/Non-member: $75

Learn the fundamentals of gynastics the YMCA way! Our program follows YMCA of the USA and USGA skill progressions. Personalized instruction at your child's level is guaranteed. Apparatus includes vault, balance beam, floor exercise, and uneven bars. All classes are held Saturday mornings.

Tumblers (Ages 3-5)  8:30 to 9:15 a.m.

Rollers (Beginners)  9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Swingers (Intermediate)  10:45 to 11:45 a.m.

Kippers (Advanced)  10:45 to 12:00 p.m.



Y Fit Kids

 

Member: $30/Family Member: $40 / Non-member: $55

You can now enroll your son or daughter in the areas most fun approach to youth fitness including wellness, nutrition and socialization! Help build another strong Y Fit Kid! The ExerPark, wellness center, gym, exercise room and pool will be utilized in this program. The class is instructed by GPYMCA Instructor Tina Fisher.

Wednesday and Friday 4:15 to 5 p.m.


Adult Golf School & Lesson

Member $60 / Non-member $75 

Keep your golf game in shape with indoor lessons!

Six week session. Sessions cover all aspects of the game and will be tailored to your skill level. Ages 18 and older.

Sunday 12 to 3 p.m.

Tee'd UP Indoor Golf Academy

Family-Member $50 / Non-member $75

Our program teaches juniors the fundamentals and key aspects while offering an exciting environment. Our goal is to help them make golf an exciting part of their life.

 

Sunday 10 to 11 a.m. (Ages 7-12)

Sunday 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. (Ages 13-17)

Late Spring Youth Basketball Academy

Lay-ups: Grades 1st and 2nd

Members $30/ Non-members $55

Students who hope to play organized basketball and learn the skills necessary to enjoy the game. Players will learn about individual offensive moves as well as listening skills and the importance of teamwork. This is a great way to stay active and promote a healthy lifestyle by improving physical fitness. Partipation is open to players of all abilities. There will be mini-controlled games at the end of practice.

Tuesday 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Bounce Passers: Grades 3rd thru 5th

Members $50/ Non-members: $65

This camp ius for more advanced players who have some experience in organized basketball and wish to enhance their skills and abilities. Players will learn about team defense and how to make themselves and their teammates better on offense and defense.

Wednesday 6 to 7 p.m. / Games: Sunday afternoons
