Health and Wellness

Being healthy means more than just physical activity. Here at the Greater Pittston YMCA we are focusing on becoming healthy physically, mentally and spiritually. Our classes will challenge you to reach your goals and push you way past them. Lifelong friends will also be made. GROUP EXERCISE

Group exercise is a fun way to enjoy a workout. The Greater Pittston YMCA offers a wide variety of classes to suit everyone’s needs. From land based exercise in the aerobics room to our aquatics exercise classes in the pool our group exerise classes will get you into shape while ahving fun and promoting a healthy lifestyle. Currenlty we offer over 20 different classes encompassing all aspects of fitness including: aerobics, yoga, strength training, cycling, dance as well as a variety of specialty trademarked classes such as TRX, Zumba and Piloxing. PERSONAL TRAINING

Motivation and accountability are at the core of personal training. Certified personal trainers are instructors who stand beside you at every physical challenge, encouraging you to try your hardest and keeping you on track. Through personal attention and expert advice, a personal trainer designs a progressive plan to help you achieve maximum results while avoiding injury. Our personal trainers assist clients needing guidance and motivation along with goal-setting. We use advanced coaching techniques and are experienced in working with a diversity of clients including weight loss, sports specific training, post-therapy rehab and special populations. Each program is tailored to the individual, focusing on your unique personal goals.


PERSONAL TRAINING PACKAGES

ONE-ON-ONE TRAINING

3 ONE HOUR SESSIONS: $75 Member; $120 Non Member
6 ONE HOUR SESSIONS: $132 Member; $210 Non Member
12 ONE HOUR SESSIONS: $240 Member; $360 Non Member

TOTAL BODY FITNESS PROGRAM - This is our best package for entry-level exercisers looking to get organized with their total body weight training program and to continue the work on their own. Fee includes initial consult, fitness pre-testing, body fat/girth measurements, an assisted training session, and a complete program write up (plan on a 2 hour appointment).
MEMBER: $120; NON-MEMBER: $210

ORIENTATION WITH A PERSONAL TRAINER - This package is offered to individuals new to personal training. This package includes a wellness consultation, fitness assessment and demonstration of fitness equipment. One purchase per person allowed.
MEMBER: $25; NON-MEMBER: $50

Silver Sneakers Program

SilverSneakers is a fun, energizing program that helps older adults take greater control of their health by encouraging physical activity and offering social events. Unlock the door to greater independence and a healthier life with SilverSneakers.

SilverSneakers rovides a fitness center membership the Pittston YMCA. This great benefit includes: access to conditioning classes, exercise equipment, pool, sauna and other amenities; customized SilverSneakers classes designed exclusively for older adults who want to improve their strength, flexibility, balance and endurance; health education seminars and other healthy lifestyle events.

We work with multiple insurance companies to offer you the best rates possible. Currently if you are a member of Silver Sneakers, Tivity, American Specialty Health, Silver and Fit, or Geisinger Gold we offer a complimmentary Adult Membership. Contact your insurance provider to see if we are included in their Wellness Program, and feel free to reach out to Membership Services with any questions.

CANDY LOMBARDO CANDY LOMBARDO, CPTA Personal Trainer

My love of fitness began in the 80's with Taekwondo in which I earned a second-degree black belt. I have been active and involved in fitness my entire life. I have an MBA from Wilkes University and am employed at Bank of America where I maintain their database. When I began working here 5 years ago, I joined the private on-site gym. The trainer encouraged me to go for my Spinning certification, and I began teaching classes at the corporate gym. My love for HIIT and body weight training made me pursue my Insanity and Metafit certifications also, and I began teaching at other fitness facilities. I am also certified in P90X and recently became a certified personal trainer. I teach many group fitness classes and as a personal trainer, I am looking forward to helping you meet your fitness goals.

Cassidy Jones CASSIDY JONES, NCCA Certified Personal Trainer

My name is Cassidy Jones, and after losing 100lbs, I developed a passion for helping others succeed with their fitness goals. I believe in health at every size, and I think that ANYBODY of ANY size can achieve anything they put their mind to. There is not a specific “look” that determines health, but rather a well-rounded and balanced way of living which will promote a healthy wellbeing and life; leaving you happier and at peace with wherever you are on your journey.

David Yanetti DAVID YANETTI, Bachelor's of Exercise Science

Dave has been a personal trainer since 2017 with a bachelor's degree in exercise science from Bloomsburg University and certified through the American Council on Exercise. He has taught small group classes and worked with a number of different clientele that range from athletes to paraplegic individuals. He has also worked alongside physical therapists, occupational therapists, chiropractors and massage therapists to bring a holistic approach to functional fitness. Dave has spent the previous 9 years in the PA National Guard and hopes to attend the Army's master fitness trainer course in the near future. Stop by and say hello, he will never turn down a good conversation!
